71st BonbonBall: swinging and with a full house over the parquet floor
#WelcomeToTheBonbonParty: Every year the BonbonBall is the sweet highlight of carnival and has long been an institution among ball friends. On Friday evening, the ball celebrated its 71st birthday in the Vienna Konzerthaus: a reason to stay young, says organizer Heinz Alphonsus, who can look forward to a full house again in 2020.
One of them has particularly enchanted the ball company, this year the crown of Miss Bonbon goes to Stephanie Briegl from Vienna.
A ball for all the senses: the many sweet treats once again enveloped the concert hall in a sweet fragrance, and you could savour them all night long. The ears were filled with classical dance music and pop as well as jive, rhythm and blues sounds. You could admire the beautiful Miss, who mingled among the guests in sparkling ball gowns like numerous celebrities. The actor Christian Spatzek as well as presenter Kathi Steininger, Miss Vienna Beatrice Körner and ex-dancing star juror Hannes Nedbal were on display. Cathedral priest Anton Faber, boxing world champion Nicole Wesner and Olympic athlete Emese Hunyady also enjoyed the glittering ball night.
Modern and traditional with a new motto
“Our round anniversary was brilliant, with this momentum the 71st BonbonBall 2020 continued”, says the organizer Heinz Alphonsus happily.
Following the impulse of marketing director Mag. Vanessa Klinka, this year’s ball was held under the motto “#WelcomeToTheBonbonParty”, which gave the ball a young, festive character with glitter and glamour. Still in love with tradition as ever, the guests relied on the classically beautiful ball flair with waltz music, ballet at the opening and a Heurigen hall with Wienerlied singer and entertainer Kurt Strohmer. “A ball night for the young and the young at heart”, smiles Heinz Alphonsus.
Viennese is Miss Bonbon 2020
Traditionally at midnight the freestyle of Miss Bonbon took place, who now carries her title for one year. The 23-year-old Viennese Stephanie Brieger made the eyes of the approximately ten-strong media and expert judges sparkle and was crowned by her predecessor. The master’s student of journalism and communication science was richly endowed and in addition was weighed out in 620 men’s cuts, which corresponds to 49 kilos. She is now donating the entire amount to the St. Anna Kinderspi-tal. “I have been visiting the Bonbon Ball for many years, but this time I wanted to know. I was totally surprised that I actually won the election, and I’m really looking forward to my new, sweet task”, says Miss Bonbon 2020. By the way, the proceeds of the sold-out raffle with 3,000 prizes were also donated, and the Center for Precision Medicine at the Medical University of Vienna is delighted about this.
Even more bold and colourful design
The DeBeukelaer Tanzprinzen provided lively enthusiasm on the dance floor, and this year they received female support from the Manner dance princesses for the first time. The new glittering selfie spot in the Vienna No-Filter Museum created sparkling memories with the stylish dance partners or the favourite ball accompaniment. For the first time in the history of the BonbonBall there was a signature drink in the colour characteristic pink, created with Mozart Chocolate Liqueur and sweetly christened “BonbonBall Busserl”. A premiere was the festive flower decoration in the VIP room, which was exclusively decorated by the flower specialists of the Fiori Company. Leibniz served the ladies’ donation, while Griesson – de Beu-kelaer spoiled the gentlemen. The mixture of colourful treats was a treat for the palate all night long: NUii with the new Salted Hazelnut & Tanzanian Coffee variety, Manner, DeBeukela-er, Confiserie Heindl, Froneri with and many more invited guests to sample the delights.
